I am new to this!

My wife gave me a MES 40 gen2 for christmas. I have never smoked anything, and I was wondering if you guys could give me some direction. Is there a book, or some good articles for the stupid newbies? I am very excited about this gift because it is something that I ave wanted to get into for a while.

From what I have found so far on this forum it looks like tomorrow will be a day of cleaning the smoker, running it empty for a few hours, and then oiling the inside and running it for a few more hours. This is all I know at the moment.

Thanks for all of your help, and I look foward to getting into this site more.
