Hello all. New to the site been smoking for some time. Currently using a wsm. But I have to cook butts for about a 100 people soon. The equipment I will have is basically a pig cooker type charcoal grill. It's pretty large. Any help from someone who has used this type grill before for doing butts? Great website.

How many butts?  You could do 4 on a WSM.  Otherwise, keep the temp on that pig cooker between 250 and 275, and let it roll. Butts are very forgiving when it comes to smoker temps!  Good luck and glad you joined us.

Thanks. It sounds like we are going to be doing about 8 butts. The host wants some leftovers to pass around. I was thinking as long as I keep about 250 I'm good to go. Thanks for the welcome.
