Howdy All,

Been lurking here a bit and figured I'd register. Checking in from PBC Florida.

Caught the smoking bug about 5 years ago and convinced a family member to get a pellet grill since I was in an apartment and couldn't have one there. I figured it was like a boat, better to know someone with a smoker than to own one.

Now that I'm in a house and have space, my viewpoint has changed. Grabbed a pellet grill a few years ago, house came with a gas grill, so I've been using those. Grabbed myself a kettle grill, and then an akorn. Now I'm in the process of ordering a Shirley patio cause I've got the space and everything I've read about them has been great. Excited to try something new!

Haven't done a brisket yet, but I do chickens, chuck roasts, ribs(beef and pork), pork shoulder. Did a leg of lamb roast the other day. Beef plate ribs are always the winner though.

Looking forward to participating and will def need some help when I get to stick burning!

Hi there and welcome - in Orlando here.

Looking forward to seeing some posts of your cooks!
Ah, I'll be up there next week for a conference! Don't get to go anywhere anymore because I spend all my money on meat and home improvements. lol

Have a safe hurricane season!

Yeah, OCCC. Infocomm. Every other year there, so work lets me go. Haven't convinced them to pay for my trip to vegas yet. haha.
Hah no way, I’ll be over there one of the days, haven’t figured out which one. What do you do in the industry? Gotta ask?

Also, if you are looking for a good spot to grab a beer I recommend half barrel beer project just down the street from the convention center

Thanks for the recommendation! I don't usually go out that way by the CC since we were always disney APs but I let it lapse this year because I don't even like the parks. I go up to drink at disney springs and see some friends we made who work at restaurants and bars on property, so a recommendation off property is always welcome!

I work for a nonprofit in PBC doing their event AV, so we go into country clubs, houses of worship, private homes, parks, etc and do fundraising events (dinners, concerts, plays, speaking engagements, etc)

Good stuff! I have been in the systems design and integration business for about 20 years now. About 10 of those years were in South Florida with majority focus on newbuild and refit cruise ships, and the last 10 have been either in the Middle East or Central FL with majority focus on newbuild theme park projects.

Welcome to SMF!!!

Welcome from Ft Lauderdale. I became a kettle-head a few months ago and it has become my most used appliance except my Weber Smoky Mountain. bought a pitboss vertical and it sits covered most of the time.

Hah no kidding? I have put a lot of your monitors in broadcast racks over the years!
Funny. we were a monitor company for 40 years now we sell way more cameras than monitors.
everything you see on Spacex is our cameras, plus the pylon cams for football. most of the cameras i sell these days are for churches or courtrooms.
