I have used my smoke a lot here lately and it's getting a stail kind of smell to it. It's affecting the taste of the meat.

How do I clean it? I have the heat turn up all the way (Electric Smoker) hoping to burn the smell out. Will that work????

I have an MES30.If it can fit in a sink full of Dawn it gets cleaned, this means any racks used. The water pan and bottom get foiled and are washed as needed as they do fit in the sink.

Since my MES has the stainless door with window it gets cleaned because its very easy to do.Three parts each water, vinegar and denatured alcohol.

As far as the inside of the smoker I use an incredibly stiff nylon brush to knock down any excessive buildup.Done as needed.

High heat at the start to burn off any nasty-ass bacteria and the same post smoke.

I have a mes 30, as your doing I just run on high for 2-3 hours, scrape off any loose stuff, clean grates, water pan, then foil, that's about all I do for mine.

Simple Green and a green scrubby pad. Keep the water away from the delicate bits. Wipe clean, don't rinse with the hose.

I would recommend baking soda and Dawn dish soap.
I've used it for cleaning things like grills and refrigerators that most people would have probably thrown out. You may have to repeat for strong orders but it works.

I clean my racks and bottom plate regularly.
But the inside feels oily and nasty. I've got it turned all the way up and it's just smoking away.

I'll leave it run until no more smoke.

Thanks.

My MES 30 gets sprayed down with 100% purple Power close the door for 20 minutes the rinse out with the garden hose. Repeat as needed until clean then tilt forward to allow all water to drain the plug in an set to highest temp setting and let it cook for an hour or 3.

I'll have to see if I can get any
