How long do you usually smoke your salt?

I am trying out my A Maze N Smoker on a roast and some salt tonight. My plan was to cold smoke the roast for 1 maybe 2 hours then turn on some heat and bring it up to 130. When I turn on the heat and add the water pan in the smoker I was thinking I probably need to remove the salt? I thought the moisture in the smoker would make it all clump up but maybe not.

Do I need to remove the salt when I give the smoker heat and if so is 1-2 hours long enough to smoke my salt?

I am going to try leaving it in the smoker with the heat and see what happens. Whats the worst that can happen? I wreck $0.25 of salt. haha

I'm a fan of water pans in my UDS however when I smoke salt I dry smoke it. With that cold smoker you have I say 2-3 hours with 1 pound of salt for a heavy smoke.

I cold smoke salts under 100 degrees for 6 hours then store it in glass jars..
