Well Its Rained the last 2 weekends and I haven't Missed a cook.
Last weekend It started out with No clouds and Not even a drop Of Rain . So I went to Buy another smoker ( a Carolina rig) Made it Home and it needed some R&R . so I fired Up My Trailer rig, Its a 4' X 24" Rig with a 15" X 24" fire box Attached to the Back. I Use a Chimney starter ( By Weber the Rapid fire 7416 ) It holds more and is better made. Anyway I started the cook ( of Pork Ribs & spare ribs ) they had Been On about 4 Hours total at 225 It was starting to sprinkle so I added another scoop Of Coals ( hickory pre- Burned to make less smoke more heat) With the rain coming temps would be hard to maintain . But I was Not going to sway , I still had 14 Pork steaks to Grill.. So I went in Grabbed the Steaks (they had been in the fridge sprinkled In My Rub) I came Out to put them on the grill and It was Pouring Like mad Like all heck had broken Loose, But I wasn't going to be defeated so I put On a Pancho and continued to cook in a torrential down pour. I mean My 1/2 acre front yard was a pond when I finished the steaks. I came inside cold wet and irritable in My Trusty Pancho , I thought I looked like the Gortons Fisherman, the wife said I looked Like the Guy from I know what you did last summer.. The moral of the story Is I wasn't about to let 40 Mile an Hour wind and a down pour stop me from Grillin and Eatin
But as it was raining This weekend as well I wasn't Gonna get wet so I Opted to Grill Inside ( i Know I Know ) but I didn't have a grill Inside so I used a 1/2 finished One setting On a table, with the Lid just sitting on it No smoke stack It was amusing to say the least I almost choked on the smoke ( not my finest Hour But The Food was great and I remained DRY!!
