Hi this is Ron total newbie to smoking

HI my name is Ron I live in Sun City Arizona. Im 57 married 25 years no kids and new as new can be to smoking. I am excited to learn from you all and eventually hope to have a good smoker but just bought an inexpensive one to give it a try.

I purchased a  Master Forge charcoal smoker.

I love smoked ham even pre cooked ones that are smoked. I fell in love with the flavor when my uncle came over last year with one. I just never bought one till today.

I am so green at this I dont know how to put wood chips, do you put them on the coals direct, wrap in foil with holes etc. I hope I can learn from all you pros and hope Im not the only green horn here to smoking.

Thank you all well I did my first smoked ham. It turned out really good surprised me and the wife. I let it smoke for six hours and kept the water tray full enought and had to do coals a couple time and stir it up a little and add some more wood chips but I am glad I am learning this new hobby.
