A good friend gifted me with a Hi-country Jerky seasoning variety pack. Two days ago I sliced up a 5 pound eye round roast. After trimming I ended up with 3.5 pound of meat, this cut wasn't the greatest.
Measured out enough of the 3 pepper seasoning mix and cure. Mixed it all up. And let it sit in the fridge overnight.
The idea was to smoke it. But mother nature had other plans. So into the oven it went at 170 degrees with the door cracked open. After a touch over 7 hours it was done.
The jerky came out very good. The flavor was nice and spicy. Quite often I find it is needed to add more spices to a seasoning mix because I found it to be a bit on the bland side.
That was not the case with this. If you're looking for another jerky flavor to try then I would recommend trying this.
