How does Hatch Green Chili Wine from New Mexico end up in Louisiana?
 
Since there is no sugar in hatch chile, the alcohol must come from plain sugar or some fruit. I wonder what they use to add some flavor?

It's just regular white wine made from grapes. Infused with the hatch chile
there are many white grapes, i doubt many will go with a green chile flavor. I downloaded the spec sheet and they don't say. They also have a red wine variety. They just say semi-sweet.

Hatch chilies have more with 4.4 grams per 100 grams of pepper.

Both Fructose and Glucose...and that is fresh hatch chilies. Most peppers contain about 90% water, so if you dried them and ground into a powder, the concentration of sugars would be much higher...40-45%...

The only reason I know this is because of the research I did on the amount of sugars in Calabrian pepper powder and bell pepper powder for fermentation when making Calabrian Sopressata Salami.
 
BTW, I bought a bottle. It was $4 dollars so I'm not expecting much. I'll post my opinion of it when I open it.
Outstanding. I don’t drink wine but I hear of people pairing different wines with different foods. What would a chili wine go with? Smoked cream cheese ?
