Was just going through my pantry, looking for some soup for dinner, and came across this:

All are 15.2 oz. cans.

And all say they are X amount bigger than a 10.75 oz can.

Now, I know it's been a while since I was in school, but the way I figure it, the difference between 10.75 and 15.2 is just under 30%. So, they got one of them right.

So what accounts for the ballooning percentage?

Ok, I just found some info on the interweb. According to Campbell's, a 10.75 oz can is 30% less than a 15.2 oz can. But a 15.2 oz can is 40% more than a 10.75 oz can. So I guess it just depends on who's doing the math, and what day of the week it is.

As for the 35% can? I guess they just decided to split the difference.

That's the NEW MATH they been teaching!...Too Funny...

My Kids, growing up in the 90's, would come home with Multiplication and Division homework. They would be laying out Grids and manipulating numbers and complained that it was hard to remember what to do and when. After they struggled for a hour, I looked at it and told them to, " Forget that Crap! " I showed them Old School Multiplication and Long Division and about 30 minutes later they finished their homework in 5 minutes! I went in to talk to their teacher about the new format. She rolled her eyes and said, " Yeah, it is really Stupid and confusing but that is the current curriculum we are told to follow..." I told her what I had done and she said she only checks for the right answers and, between us, does not care how the girls get there. Thankfully the policy was changed back to what worked for generations but there were 3 years of kids that had to be retaught Basic Math!!!...

They did the same thing with my kids, only it was with writing. Instead of teaching them to print, they went with something called Delinean. Again, screwed up 3 years worth of 1st graders until they admitted it was a failure (which EVERY PARENT TOLD THEM FROM DAY 1) and went back to printing normal English.
