Help for the new guy please..

ok, i must admit when i'm over my head.

After reading and checking out the pics.. of you DIE HARD smokers. I'm stumped. Thought i knew enough about smoking to hang with the big dogs. so i'm gonna need some help.

Here are some things i may need clarification on, and maybe there is some slang in here that i do anyway and just not part of the "in crowd" yet to understand it. :( haha

so here goes.. please explain to me..

Mop
Spray
Slather

those are just a couple i saw. anything else would be awesome..

Mop:

Basically just basting with liquid. You can use a mop like brush or just a regular one


Spray:

Fill a spray bottle with juice, juice/spirit mix to baste the meat without touching it to avoid disturbing the bark


Slather: Coat well, ususally used when applying a coat of yellow mustard to a pork butt so the rub adheres better. Some say it creates better bark

And how about Rep power.?? i got 1. woo hoo. Can't be a bad thing right.?? i did try and search it. but, nothing came up.

Can't explain UDS to the tee, but it's a 55 gallon drum smoker. Rep points are explained on the home page. Should be the second link down.

Tbone: Bark is what a dog does. Oh sorry, couldn't let that one go!

It is the coating formed on the outside of smoked meats by seasonings and coatings you add.

UDS is an "ugly drum smoker" which is made from a drum. They are ugly but work rather well I've heard.
