I am a brand new member although I have trolled on a number of occasions and have already picked up some great advice. Just wanted to say that I think this is a wonderful forum and appreciate all the time that people take to help out relative newcomers like myself. Just moved here from Florida and was forced to leave my beloved homemade smoker there and pick up a Brinkmann vertical charcoal smoker at a local garage sale, and I am trying it out today. Feeling cocky I am going all-in on a 10 lb brisket wish me luck.

Welcome to the site, and good luck on that brisket.

Chris

Thank you and yes I think it turned out quite well ended up smoking it for about nine and a half hours but found I should have trimmed it a little more
