Hey guys

My name is Andy and as the title says Im located in the panhandle of Florida.  I'm relatively new to smoking but have been grilling for some time now.  I currently have an electric MECO upright smoker and a homemade charcoal keg grill.  I am planning to build a large portable smoker for use at fire dept. fundraisers and the like.  I also cook a lot at work for my Fire/EMS shift and I was looking for new ideas when I found this forum.  As far as my skill level I would prefer to say that I'm a novice, most of my experiance has been the standard steaks and burgers.  I just recently started using my smoker and I really want to learn what all I can do with it.  Looks like a great site!

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, I really appreciate it!! I'm also proud to report that I have already used an idea I found here, the jalopeno stuffed bacon wrapped bratwurst...and they were great!  I used my beer keg charcoal grill that I built(it plugs into the receiver hitch on my trucks so I can transport it easily).  I put my coals at the end nearest the inlet vent and placed the bartwurst at the opposite end on a sheet of tin foil.  I let them cook for about 20 minutes and then placed chopped onion on another sheet of tin foil directly over the coals.  Then we stuffed the brats and onions in hoagie rolls with a shot of spicy brown mustard and man, that was some fine eatin if I do say so myself!  We're gonna try some bacon and cheddar stuffed burgers this weekend, another great idea I found here.  I'm really starting to enjoy this site!
