Hi all,

I have been using my weber charcoal grill as a smoker :grilling_smilie:. It works great, but can't cook anything else. Time to move to a dedicated smoker. Looks like the consensus is a Weber as well. Can't wait to do my kielbasa in it.

Best,

Dave

I used the kettle as a smoker as well and still used it to grill steaks, burgers, pork chops, etc and even cook pizza.  Since the addition of the WSM I imagine it will not get much more smoker duty though.

Do you use a pizza stone or put it right on the grate?

Hello Dave and welcome to SMF! Sounds like you are well on your way to the affliction that brought the rest of us here. I started out with a fattie and Canadian Bacon on my gas grill...that's all it took for me to acquire a dedicated smoker!

Welcome aboard, Dave!

That Weber kettle will probably be the most versatile unit you will ever own.

A dedicated smoker?  Now we are talkin!

Good luck and good smoking.
