I go by angelwannaB, am a newbie to smoking ... Excited about my new-found hobby and hope to someday prepare scrumptious smoked food for my family. Have yet to smoke my first time. My MB I just bgt is still in the box...so I guess I'm literally a "new-Born"

I have a Masterbuilt New Generation 40" w/remote and the AMNPS w/apple, hickory, cherry and mesquite pellets. Have yet to open

I'm into sausage making, cheese making, homemade butter and artisan bread also.

Must admit I've never eaten smoked brisket nor had genuine que except at fairs or festivals. Have grilled food but really didn't know what I was doing. I know I've literally missed out and hope to open a new adventure in food for my family.

Any/all suggestions or links greatly appreciated. Ordered the book on Barbq:the art of smokeology ... Great reviews on amazon, hopefully this will help me ... Since I've not really been exposed to this great type of food, I'm afraid I won't really be able to judge my results...

Nice to see so many friendly posts of ppl helping ppl. Thumbs Up

God bless
Patty

I know that just reading things on this forum can be better than a cookbook.  I read things in books, but I tend to make the things I read here.  I guess it is the Qview that makes the difference.

As far as not having much experience with BBQ shouldn't be an issue.  No 2 chefs taste alike.  Most important thing I ever learned is to not try use someone elses Q as your standard.  Cook to your own flavor.  Then you will not follow a standard and you will create food and flavor we never dreamed of on this end of the computer.  With that said, please share so we can learn as much from you as you can from us.

Good luck and play with that flavor!

Ron

Hello All

I'm new to any type of forum so please bear with me. My name is Ron and going by Jollycork. I have used several kinds of amateur smokers, finally settled on a Masterbilt electric smoker. I love to cook and smoking seams to be my favorite way. I live in Walpole Ma. and have lived in this area all my life.

I have been using Jeff's recipes for 2 years and they are the best. Just a quick note to introduce myself and to see how this all works.

Thanks for listening

Ron
