Yes, and can also plug some of the flame holes if wanted such as in windy conditions .So flame can be turned up so doesn't blow out.

I use it in this smoker under 1/4" steel plate. Soak down dust and sprinkle on plate. We do 50-100# batches deer sausage in it.

4 wood dowels on each rack.

Needle valve at tank, once smoker is preheated it holds temperature amazingly well for just being lined with 1/2" plywood.
