I know this may sound a little odd for this forum but . My boss is making me ask it. My wife is a cancer survivor. So I am in the market for a smoker and im gettin real anxious. well she just backed me up a couple of notches. she wants to know if there are any related health risks to cooking or eating food from a smoker. I know this probably is not the right forum for this but what the hell. Thanks
Eric

Eric that is a hard question to answer I think. They tell ya to steer away from chared or burnt foods I know (my wife is a cancer survivor too) because she lets me know evertime I grill something

... I dont know what she is insuating.........

Do a search for nitrites and nitrates health?

With todays modern ways, I really rather doubt it. Todays cures have very little of granddads chemicals in it. Yes there are some, but then, there are problems drinkin water, breathin the air an so on an so forth. Like everythin else, done in moderation should not hurt yall a bit. There are exceptions to the rule of course, but then again, some people are allergic ta themselves too!

I don't see a thing wrong with smokin food. Better then the chemical treatments that the commercial guys (stores) add ta there so called smoked meats. Just my two coppers worth.

this has been brought up so many times-as far a cures there not bad if Used in a correct way! Mis use them and they can kill!-faster than cancer.Smoke from the wood chunks-chips- Ya it has it's issues also-but u would need to eat smoked food 3 times a day for 100 years-as far as a accurite answer to your question-ask your wifes DR.

I got 40' from Sam's Club. and I love it, easy to use and it also serves as a holding oven, rather handy to have.

Me too, Lol, Rithtee, I didn't give any advice. I just tried to let them do their own research and make thier own decision.

Hell, I smoke cigars, drink beer, and have a martini all the time. Nothing wrong with being informed of certain health risks. If they want to take them, it is their choice, right? I'm taking mine knowing what they are.

I am brining my liver right now in some vodka, actually.

Heres to ya, bottoms up. I have been fighting a virus or something on the puter all day, sick of it. 3 beers, already tonight and pouring a martini as I speak. Ad crap, virus crap, phishing crap. I am supposedly protected, NOT. Might be a long night and a few pops. None of the avitars here work, and I can't access my Mcafee security center to fix anything.
Cheers to Ya!!
