Just a brief update for those who were wondering; I finally made it home last Tuesday around noon after two and a half days of pushing that 26’ U-Haul dragging an auto transport with my Ranger sitting atop it. I did my best to stay ahead of a storm that was sure to lock me in some tiny little town in Utah, Wyoming or Nebraska! I did very well and encountered only small amounts of ice on the roads but not enough to cause me any issues.
When I got here it was mid-day and I was content with spending the rest of the day with the family and not doing anything else! Wednesday found me and the youngest (Jake at 13 years) unloading the truck in scattered rain showers and cold temps. We did our best despite having to close the truck a few times to prevent water from entering the truck. By late Wednesday evening we were driving the empty truck to the local U-Haul center to drop it all off and begin the task of opening and unpacking all of our stuff.
Since it has been almost two years since we’ve had our belongings in storage it was like Christmas was starting a day early! Shouts of, “Wow, I forgot I had this!” and “Oh, that won’t fit anymore,” filled the house. Ahh…it’s good to be home!
Of all the boxes I brought in to the house, it was the one beside the tree that caught my eye the most! It was tall looked heavy! I love my wife! But, that’s for another thread!
So, there it is. I’m home and living in a sea of cardboard and packing paper but I don’t mind! It’s snowing outside and I still have a lot of work to do but I don’t mind. For me, it’s all well worth it!
Thanks for stopping by!
