Hi, I've been looking into building a smoker for the first time and came across the tutorial here. I'm planning to use a 250 gal tank that's been cut in half (43" long) for the CC and a 15" long section of a 250 tank as the FB.

Did the calculations from the tutorial and got the following:
Diameter29.5
Length42.75
CC volume in cu in29219.383
FB/CC opening in sq in116.878
Area under the RF plate in sq in116.878
Area required at the end of the RF plate in sq in116.878
Min vol of FB9642.397 (15" FB results in 10252.391)
FB air inlets in sq in29.219
ESV in cu in642.826
Stack diameter for 36" length (actual 36.276)4.75
Segmented Height ED (1/2 FB/CC opening for round FB)4.125 (results in 116.118 sq in opening)
Height of RF plate8.25
RF plate width26.481

Do these numbers look correct? I'm confused as to what the area under RF plate and area at the end of the RF plate mean. How do I determine the RF plate length?

Looks like a great forum with some awesome builds. Hoping all the experience here can help me out. Thanks!!
