Figured since I have seen a ton of good griddle cooks lately and they are gaining popularity I would share one I did a few nights ago. Flat top beef and broccoli. Haven't made this one in awhile so was a bit rusty but all turned out well. Not a lot of prep pics and this is the lazy cheat version so forgive me now.

Started out cutting up a couple pounds of beef. Normally I would use flank but didn't have any on hand so this was thin cut sirloin I found at freezermart.

1. Coat the steak in corn starch and set aside.
2. Cook your rice. I used the white boil in a bag rice(4 bags). Once it is done drain and put in the freezer. You want the rice going on the grill cold.
3. Chop up some onion and a few shrooms. Then heat the griddle up.
4. 2 bags of steam in the bag broccoli florets. Cook half way of what the directions say.
5. Mix up a sauce consisting of ginger, low sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, and brown sugar. Set aside.

Sauté up some onions and shrooms. Once done set aside.

Once the rice is nice and cold toss it on the griddle.

This is where sesame oil is your friend. Toss the rice around until it starts getting close do your doneness preference.

Dump a small bag of frozen peas and carrots on.

Once it is nice and soft mix it in with the rice. Throw the onions and shrooms in the mix at this point too.

Cracked 3 eggs scrambled and tossed it in with the rice.

I put the rice in a pan at this point but if you are doing a smaller batch you could push it off to the side to keep warm.

Dumped the broccoli on and cooked until it started getting close. Pushed aside.

Beef time.

Once the beef is done. Mix the broccoli in and dump sauce over the top. Mix around and cook until it gets nice and gooey and smells so good you can't take it anymore.

Dinner time.

Busted out the fine china and threw a couple egg rolls in the mix.

Easy recipe to do and way better than some crap you get at the $8.99 a dinner Chinese take out place. Even if you don't have a flat top you could do it in a large CI pan or even inside on the stove. Anyways thanks for checking it out! Stay safe out there.

looks great John, i'll have to save this one my wife loves Chinese food looks pretty simple to make so maybe I can even do it!

Yep! I'll take two plates please! Great meal to make. Ive done this pretty close to the same but in the cast iron. Minute rice with a little soy sauce to replace a small portion of the water when cooking it. And then some sesame oil when cooking on the flat top/cast iron adds a little bit to it if you want to give it a shot next time. Top with some green onion and toasted sesame seeds. Now I'm dreaming of this meal. Might be going on next weeks meal plan!

Looks fantastic. That’s th kind of meal where the griddle really shines too!! Don’t forget the onion volcano next time lol. I’ll show you my videod attempt at that sometime.

WOW JOHN!! I love Asian food and this is about my favorite of them all. Beautifully done and extremely well presented. I'd be all over a 5 gallon bucket full of that my friend!! LIKE!!
