Got a rack ready to rock and roll for a small rib treat this afternoon since nobody in my my family like ribs and now it's time to build my fire.... Wait where did my two bags of charcoal go and my smoker!!!!!! My wife decided without telling me, to lend my UDS and bags of charcoal to her brother for his 4th cookout.

Well time to learn another way to cook them... Here goes....

350* oven at 2 1/2 hrs inside a hotel pan, on top a wire rack filled with water and liquid smoke.... I know... I used the LS word but no other choice, I'll let you know the outcome

your wife wont lend it out anymore when that liquid smoke smells up the house...... should last about a week...lol

They look pretty darn good!

Other than a mild smoke flavor because of the liquid smoke they were the best I've ever made... Maybe a new combo of 1-1/2 on smoker with real smoke then into the hotel pan with apple juice at 350* in oven. They were moist, tender and they did that perfect "bite" thing that ribs in a comp should do. I am going to experiment more with this version.. Hot a fast isn't all that bad :)

Her arse would be on the couch. Well at least you have a reason to buy another smoker now.
It's currently on its way back to where it belongs in the back yard. The thing that kills me is I offered to help him build his own UDS when I made mine and he said "I don't have the time and patients to learn how to use one".

WOW not sure what I would do if my wife loaned my smoker out without my permission.

Glad they came out good! As for the BiL, if he didn't have the patience to learn when you offered your help, when did he learn? And the wife...you got a lot of good suggestions from others, but I can tell you if my boyfriend had loaned mine smoker to anyone...he'd definitely not be having many privileges for quite some time!!!!

Still happy the ribs came out good for you.

He wanted to see if HE could do it alone from what he told me when he returned my smoker and short changed me on charcoal
