GOSM newbie

first timer with GOSM.
Will the wood box burn mostly to ash before refill? I seem to stop smoking after 1.5 hrs, but wood box has no ash, just charcoal. I have soaked chips for several hrs prior.
Anybody?

Mine seem to be always the charcoal. I dumped the box that came with it and use a 8x8 metal cake pan now. Holds more chunks and smokes longer. Still get the coals. LOL I do love that GOSM!

same here I dont use the box tghqt came with. I use a bigger pan also
I dont soak my wood. I cover pan with foil with a bunch of holes in it. I can gt about 4 hrs worth of thin blue
