I apologize in advance if this seems spam-y, but I wanted to share a good BBQ joint find. There are so few commercial places around here that do good BBQ, it's fantastic when you come across one. I won't mention the bad ones, but there's a lot of bad 'Q being served to people who apparently don't know any better.

Memphis Pit BBQ on Hwy 99, in Everett, WA. These guys are the real deal. Just a roadside pit and stand; no eating space. You can walk up and order, or go thru the drive thru. I've tried their meats (and sides), and it is as good as anything I've done. And I consider what I make to be better than 95% of the 'Q around the area. I've jawed with the pitmaster(s) awhile, and they tell me they use a mixture of mesquite and hickory in their pit, and make their own links. BTW, their pit is built from cinderblocks, about 6' x 12', topped with a huge, heavy iron lid, and a number of iron doors. It looks like one of the old Ironclad warships from the Civil War.

When I'm too lazy, or in a hurry, to make my own, I go down there. Reasonably priced and very good. I don't think you can ask for more. I'll see if I can get some pics of the place, next time I'm there.

I'd like to hear from anyone else who's been there, and get their opinion. I should add that I am not affiliated with them in any way. Just like their 'Q.
