Who still boils the neck, gizzard , heart and liver for gravy? I usually always smoke the turkey but we always boil the giblets with spices and seasoning for gravy which in turn makes the house smell like food from morning to eating time. So good.

And bones inda pot for gumbo.....

Well when you only have a breast you use that gravy package that came with it. This might of been the best turkey breast yet. Cured and smoked. I normally dont like turkey but wow was this good.

I boiled all the giblets today but made a bread dressing baked in the oven.

I used to (even put minced giblets in the gravy) but now just the neck and a bunch of thighs and drums 10-12 hours the day before….

I also do this……I take the bird bones after I cut the remainder of meat off then simmer it most of the day with the left over bone broth I made the day before…..it makes second day (or 3 day) gravy!!!
