Decided to try something different yesterday. It was warm but not as hot as a typical Central Texas June afternoon so a warm meal was not out of the question. Thought through a few options and this is what I came up with. I knew we had a watermelon in the fridge that needed to get cut up and eaten and having grilled it a few times in the past knew it'd be good. Got the tenderloin tips out of the freezer and started the ball rolling.

Tips with a nice dose of that insane Worcestershire sauce, a little salt, black pepper, and garlic powder

This was one really good meal. The tips were melt-in-your-mouth tender and a beautiful balance of flavors from the seasonings. Veggies were done exactly as we like them; warm and slightly softened but still some texture to them. The watermelon was superb...but it always is when we grill it. This is a favorite around here. The sugars in it caramelize and create a delicious flavor that's a perfect accompaniment with the beef. It also smells amazing while it's grilling. The rice was an out of the box side dish (Knorr) but still really good along with the rest of the dinner. Tracy was very surprised on one hand and really disappointed on the other hand. She was surprised at how good the tips and veggies were but disappointed that there were no leftovers for her lunch today. This one certainly goes into the "quick and easy" meals category. Did not take long at all to put together or cook.

Y'all asked that I keep posting these, so here ya go...again :emoji_laughing:

Great look meal Robert, I like that picture of the tips and grilled vegetables all mixed together on that yellow plate. Delicious for sure.

I’ve never grilled watermelon before. I’d like to try it because I enjoy grilled pineapple, peaches and mangoes.

I’m interested in trying it...the only thing I can’t do is sprinkle salt on watermelon. A bunch of people in my family do that, I think it’s gross.

Looks great Robert ! Simplicity sometimes makes the best meals! Grilled watermelon is a tasty treat! Try seasoning it with some chilli lime seasoning after it comes off the grill its awesome!

Another fine looking meal my friend! I have never done grilled watermelon but my wife might admit me if I tried it. She already thinks I am nuts for grilling and smoking everything :emoji_wink:

Looks great Robert! Never tried grilled watermelon either, but looks delicious.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Joe. If we were eating in the house I'd have just left the meat and veggies on the stove till the second round of eating. Can't do that with the griddle though because it stays hot for a long time and will torch what's left while we're eating the first plate full.

We do pineapple also and love that. I saw a kid on one of the BBQ Pit Masters Junior series grill watermelon and thought it sounded good so gave it a shot, and glad I did. It's REALLY good!!

I too have seen people put salt on watermelon but I could never bring myself to do that so am in total agreement with you there!!

I'm another who's never heard of grilling a watermelon Robert, but I've no doubt at all that it was yummy for the tummy, Like! It must have taken some discipline to not turn that into a Philly cheesesteak, my favorite on the flat top. RAY

Looks good. I've never had grilled watermelon either.

You may want to give it a shot. Something else to consider. I've never tried it but I've heard of folks pickling watermelon. Knowing your propensity for pickling stuff, that may be a fun little project.

Yup. Another great cook Robert! I'd take a big ol plate of that for sure! Hard to go wrong with good meat and veggies.

Thank you Zach!! Very much appreciate it my friend.

Wow a simple but great meal. Never heard of grilled water melon ( I live a sheltered life)

Yes sir, it was a quick and simple meal but it hit on all the high spots. You may wanna try the watermelon grilled. It's super tasty!!

Thank you Travis. I've often thought about trying some seasonings on it but we just love it right off the grill. I'll most likely give something a try though just to see if we can make it even better. Glad to see somebody else that's had grilled watermelon though :emoji_wink:

Thank you my friend for the kind words. I'd probably be in the same dilemma had Tracy not seen it on BBQ Pit Masters also. If I'd come up with that on my won she'd probably have called the men with the white jackets to come pick me up.

Not sure about the watermelon...but I would try it...but the rest looks awesome.

Understand but at some point somebody wasn't sure about pizza but look where that's gone :emoji_wink: Everybody that's tried it has really liked it so far.

Add me to the never heard of grilled watermelon, but it sounds interesting. Need to try it sometime.

I haven't pickled it. But I've tried it. Didn't care for it. Too sweet for my liking.

Very much appreciate the accolades Ray. In all honesty though it was no problem at all not turning it into a cheese steak. We'd just done those a few days prior and I wanted something different...and this is what I came up with.
