Fist smoke house help!

I need a little help. I want to build a smokehouse. I have a friend Masonman1345 that has turned me on to this site and said that yall could help. Here is my question. what would I need to do to make an electric smokehouse? I would like to build it out of cedar. Has anyone out there made a electric smoker out of cedar?
