Well, I decided to sell my Dyna-glo vertical offset charcoal and go to a GMG pellet grill.
I ran it in for about 40 minutes to set all the paint and burn off any chemicals.

On sunday i fired it about when it was about 0 degrees C,
had no problems keeping temperature, it was a bit lower on my Thermopro than what the GMG was indicating, COuld be due to the external temperatures being cold combined with i put some tinfoil over the grease grates so it would stay cleaner.
For a first attempt i am extremely pleased with the results.
Ribs were extremly tender and almost the perfect amount of smokyness, could use a little more.
Chicken was moist and had a tonne of flavour.
I started off with the basic GMG pellets Gold Blend I believe, they just threw in a bag with my purchase.

Great unit, I am looking forward to more in the coming weeks.

Looks really nice. Your gonna love your Danial Boon. I use mine all the time.
I also bought the thermo cover they sell. I keep it on year round. Helps with pellet consumption

Yes, I was doing some reading around about that, some people say a welding blanket works well. Albeit not as pretty, but the purpose is served.

Food looks good, and congratulations on the new smoker. Enjoy and keep it busy.
