It depends on the the weather and smoke duration....

On a hot day...lighter Pilsner or Lager on a Cool Fall or Cold Winter Day....Dark Beer or Stout

For Ribs...Corona with Lime.

For Brisket...Shiner Bock.

All of course loaded on crushed iced in my cooler and they have to be in there for at least 4 hours to cool....
 
Sweet tea, with lemon if its a fancy deal.

LORD wouldn't of gave us sugar if HE hadn't intended on tea being sweet...
