Don't ever tell the women this but mayhap we men aren't as dumb as they give us credit for being. Matter of fact, I'm starting to believe being dumb aids me in my endeavors of getting what I want, as long as she thinks she's making the decisions.

Deaf and dumb,
Robert

True that! Have you seen my Jambalaya thread?

I have no problem if I want it I buy it don't even ask.
Learned that lesson the hard way . Under a certain amount I would just buy it .
I saw a shot gun I wanted years ago , had a $450 price tag . So I thought I would mention it .
She asked how much , told her ,, pause for a minute then she says yeah that's fine . Go ahead .
Couple days later I'm sitting at the kitchen table . I see this flash of light . Looked around , it's coming from her finger .
$900 diamond ring .

I envy your ability to do this but maybe things are different in my world. Tracy has always made vastly more money than I have. I'm not embarrassed by it, not intimidated by it, and it doesn't bother her in the least that she's the chief bread winner around here. The thing is that any time I buy something that has a pretty hefty price tag attached to it, I feel like I'm spending her money to get it. Out of prudence and a deep respect for my wife, I feel compelled to get her approval before pulling the trigger. It may take a couple weeks, or maybe even a couple months, but I always get it and I've kept the harmony that maintains a great relationship. No question, if the tables were turned, I'd do the same thing you are able to do but I gotta do the right thing by her.

Steve...forgot to attach your comments. It was asking if I'd seen your jambalaya post.

No sir I have not. Can you give me a clue where to find it? We LOVE jambalaya around here and of course, it's made with homemade sausage. I'd like to give it a real close look.

Steve H made think of a friend that just passed about 3 weeks ago.

I can only hope it was a fond memory. I had one of my best friends pass away not long ago and there still little things that come up almost every day that remind me of him. We covered a lot of ground together so it's not surprising that a lot of things bring back memories.

He's gone but not forgotten,

Sounds like you both won. Difference is you got the bronze medal and she got the gold....definite pun intended :emoji_laughing:

Uh oh....

I know the feeling too well !!
You don't have your age listed, but when you get my age, you start losing friends a lot more often. I imagine Warren agrees.

Thanks for the comments on loss of friend He had just turned 63 but was a great supporting member of my local Loins Club. As many have done in our life time he made a mistake. He was changing a light bulb in a pole light and fell. We all have as said done things we knew better but a extension ladder and a round pole is not a good combination. Yes Bear you are right but age anymore is not the soul player.

That's great of you to think in those terms. Here I'm a tax write off for my wife as I have been on medical disability for over 25 years. She does the same thing if she wants something just goes and get.

Steve....thanks for the link to the jambalaya!! Very much appreciated sir.

OK , hows that eye round coming along ?

Getting back on topic, this thread reminded me to check y inventory and I discovered that I'm perilously low on dried beef. Costco wasn't open yet when I was on my way home from work so stopped at the Super Wally World and grabbed 2 eye round roasts. Will get them into the cure tomorrow.

I don't disagree at all. You don't need to convince me but you're gonna have a tough time convincing Tracy :emoji_anguished:

With my Recipe, nobody can tell the difference in a Blind Test.
Except the Venison Dried Beef is Healthier.
