My wife has been bugging me for jerky and since my dehydrator took a crap I decided to browse craigslist for a steal before I dumped a ton of cash into something I would use a few times a year, and by gosh darnit, I found one. Its a cabelas commercial 80 litre in immaculate shape. The guy selling it said he just grew out of drying because his buddy does it for him and he doesnt have the time to prep the stuff himself . Anyway, chexk this baby out that I got for a whole 50 bucks after negotiating a final price.

Now all you need is that squirrel to make into squirrel jerky.
I actually never have made squirrel jerky but I occasionally shoot a few to eat... They are pretty good eating.  I think the smoker was a good find and will be running my first batch of venison jerky in it today.  I will post pics.

A whole different situation around San Francisco, not only is the idea of a squirrel  on a dinner plate totally obscene but when you go into certain areas of Golden Gate Park, the squirrels will mug you and take whatever food you have.

LOL!   That made my day Linguica.

I'm just to lazy to skin them.  We have 5 black walnut trees around the house and they drag the nuts off faster then I can hull them.   I have to dry them in the garage.   Got some fat ones though.
