Last week this probably early 20's guy walking back and forth on side walk. Asked him what going on. Said late for work and waiting on a ride. Works at Whataburger. Its about 1/2 mile from here. Said I would give him a ride but someone was on there way. Next day knocked on door and asked for ride. i took him. Couple days later did it again. Came over again today and I had to tell him no more. I felt bad doing this but it not my responsibility to get him to work. Oh well! Time to clean out the kitchen cabinets as I have those damn pantry bugs! Been trying to figure out were they coming from as I all ready cleaned a couple up. Did not feel like grilling my pork steak last night and thought I would make some oatmeal. Bingo!

Bring that kid to Iowa... show him what walking beans is like... mid 90's for a temp and humidity about the same. Half mile long rows. No wonder we used to be able to waterski around the lake several times without getting tired.

That was cool of you to offer him a ride, Brian.
I can't believe a person in their 20s can't walk 2500', that's really pathetic.

Brian, get some peppermint oil, mix a couple tablespoons of it into a spray bottle of water. It works great for repelling flying bugs, spiders and ants, and it smells nice. We just got invaded by ants last night, they were going for my wife's cat, food bowl. As much as I would like to get rid of the cat, I decided not to spray ant killer near its food bowl. I sprayed the peppermint spray all around the baseboards and the food bowl mat, and they are gone this morning.

Brian do you have pantry moths? I got them for the first time ever last year. They were a real challenge to get rid of!! I ended up emptying all pantries. Found the likely source a partially sealed bag of pecan flour. Bleached everything in all cupboards plus tops of the cabinets and up under. I also ordered the pantry moth glue boards off Amazon. It was literally several months before they were finally all gone. Drove me nuts. I hope to NEVER have them again.

Would Talstar not work? It's pet friendly.

Not sure what you have for pantry bugs. Could be a variety of hatching out pests. The eggs for moths and weevils is in your raw stock. If you can store in the fridge it will stop the hatch.

Your 20 something person that probably paced off 1/2 mile waiting for a ride reminds me of friends that have Amish neighbors. They learned to NOT offer to do anything for them. They turn into parasites that expect it.

I have a co-worker in his 20's that rides his bike almost 5 miles to work. That dude needs a clue.

Hope your pantry bugs are gone now. They are a PITA to get rid of depending.

In Poland while i was 21 year old i was taking a bus to work and walking back home at 2am every day. 15 miles walk 5 days a week for a year. Winter in Poland is between 0 and -30C :) I had ice on my beard by the time i got back home :) People are soft now :D

From the other hand we dont know his situation. Hi might have other responsibilities and commitments. Children, lonely parent, second job.... Maybe just struggle to make the ends meet.
