I try to surf around on some other forums from time to time but I just can't seem to get into any of them. My buddy is trying to get me to keep coming to the forum he likes best but I can't stand the layout of the page and it just seems like they don't have as many experienced guys/gals on their site as we do here. Without naming sites because I am not trying to hurt anyones feelings. If you do belong to other forums what is your experience does it seem that this site has more experienced people and are more helful that other places? But then again I have only looked at a few so I'm sure there are plenty of good ones out there as well.

i belong to 2 other bbq forums, and they are both as good as this one. I just think bbq folks are typically cool folks, and helpfull.

I also hang out on BBQ Brotheren, Rocky Mountain BBQ Association, Pelletheads, and KCBS. This forum is by far the busiest and most informative followed by BBQ Brotheren. Each site has something to offer.

I am on a few others as well. They all have their strenghs and weaknesses. Some I don't check in on very often. The ones that I frequent regularly have lots of very experienced members.

I belong ta several. One is a bit more southern in nature an has it's experts fer that, so if lookin ta make boudin er somethin like that I go there. Another is more southwestern, has some good things there an I send my inlaws on scoutin missions cause there in that area.

Another is quite varied, they do cheese, soda pop an lots a things, nice if yer lookin fer some variety.

I have two that I'm on alot each day cause they hold my main interests. I had been at one that I got banned at cause I'm me an won't change an another thats to clicky fer my tastes. Drop in there from time ta time but usually just get ignored so don't care. I'll leave my experience with the folks what wan't it.

I belong to at least three other sites... I mainly post here and on one other.
Used to belong to another site but was run off.. some said my posts weren't good enough for them.

Jeff has provided a great place here to exchange ideas... one thing I love about this site, when looking for info on how to smoke something, everyone can put in their 2 cents on how they smoke... you aren't pointed to a sticky tutorial as in "this is the way to do it"..... ALL ideas are welcome.

Some of us think outside of the box.

When I ask for ideas, I want to hear from eveyone, want to hear all ideas, not just be pointed to a sticky tutorial.

For cooking I'm a member of 5 forums, but only post and pay attention to two primary one SMF and a chef's forum. SMF is the most helpful, but all are friendly. On the chef's forum if you want to learn how to make a particular sauce or cook a certain dish properly they will tell you.

I belong to 3 BBQ ones, but this is the main one I check out. I also check out the virtualweberbullet forums for anything to do with my smoker, but this forum is much busier, and I just immediately seemed to "click" here. The other is the Smoke Ring, of which I don't think I've ever even posted, and only checked out once or twice.

I also belong to a fantasy football board, and a poker board. In the past, I've belonged to boards based around cars I've owned, etc., but drifted away when I changed cars.

I really love message boards, and find them to be a much better source of info than many other avenues on the 'net. Some are just so clicky, or abusive that they turn me off.

For everyone of my hobbies or interests I have at least one forum I visit. Forums are fantastic for expanding you knowledge and emptying your pockets.

I belong to only 2 bbq related forums. SMF and Cookshack (because I own one and have specific items/qiestions/etc... about that unit and need to go to the source sometimes). That said, I have pnly recently joined here and in the time here I have only been to CS once or twice. Good info there SPECIFIC to my smoker, but not really the variety of input I get here.

I also belong to 3 SCUBA related forums. Same name everywhere.

Mmmm...

I belong to three or four other forums. Only one is specifically about barbecue/smoking.

ditto jeanie!!! i dont know about the "run off" deal but if that is indeed the truth then that sucks because its prolly only a few involved and the people really getting shafted are all the members who enjoyed your posts.

yes this is a great place to share, is special for me because this is where i really was introduced to "real" smoking, have made alot of friends here and at other forums as well. i found my way here so we know its plausible that one may find other forums as well, i also belong to a fishing forum, snowmobile forum, at least 3 other smoking sites as well.

I belong to 4 other BBQ forums. Each of them have lots of helpful, friendly people on them. Only 1 of the other 4 comes close the the # of posts/day that this one does.

Honestly I have not liked replies or info from time to time and tried other sites.. However, I like/trust this site the most and always end up back here.. Jeff has an awesome rub/sauce and te people that make up this forum really are knowledable about there BBQ and for the most part everyone is in it for the sport itself.... Thanks.....
