I am looking for some ideas on desserts for Christmas. Here is some smoked cookies and pies, but I am kinda hoping for something out of the box a little.

LOL, not everything is better smoked.
Pecan, apple, sweet potato or pumpkin pie are always a welcome sight but nothing says Christmas desert more than homemade cannolis with shaved Gianduiotti chocolate with chopped hazel nuts or pistachios topped with powdered sugar and a Luxardo maraschino cherry. Cannolis are by far the favorite in our home on all holidays and get togethers.

Some nice big smoked apples come to mind. chilerelleno . Has a great way of doing them. Ive done them his way twice now and love them!

Baked or lightly smoked these will dazzle your guests.

I never got on board with the Cannolis , but wife's side of the family was Italian . Used to go there for Christmas . Outside of all the homemade ravioli , spiedini , cardoons sausage and meatballs , she made a amaretto cheese cake with a hazelnut crust that I made myself sick on .

I have finally perfected a Spicy Crunchy Gingerbread Bite recipe. Has a consistency kinda biscotti-like. Starts with a gingerbread flavor, and then the heat sneaks up on you. GREAT with coffee!
