Tried out Debi's Crisp-X recipe.. I added cheeze-it crackers, peanuts. cashews and honey roasted peanuts. Smoked a few hours and finished in over. The cheezeit picked up the smoke real quick and a lot of it. Still waiting for the cool down.. Tasted good hot.

Hmmm, alittle sprinkle of Everglades Heat and

Nuts right out of the can.. I'm waiting for them to get cool so I can see how they came out. When hot the nuts are soft..

after I finished them off in the oven. I though they were getting too much smoke on the smoker.

Did you use salted nuts? I use unsalted but I'm not a big salt eatter. I think pictashios are my favorite in that mix but they take forever to shell!

I used to use the chese-its sticks but I can't find them anymore just the squares but they are still good. Hope you enjoy it! I can't make enough to keep the boys at work happy!

Debi I used salted nuts, could not find any unsalted ones. And to tell you the truth after the smoke and the mixing and the seasons you don't taste the salt on the peanuts or cashews much. The sugar on the honey roasted nuts came off on most that I ate so far. The honey was still there and they were good.
I saw the sticks and was gonna add them also but figured that the squares was enough. Are the sticks better tasting?
thanks for posting the recipe..

turned out REAL good... I did learn that you DO need to stir it every 20 min, not every 25-30 min like me.. Some got too hot and picked up a little burnt color

Brought it to work today and the guys who like smoked food were lov'in it.

The sticks taste about the same just look nice with different shapes. I did one batch this summer with so many different nuts the boys at work barely noticed the cerial. I like it best without them though. Cheese sticks are a strong flavor and smetimes overpowers everything else.

Yeah you have to stir it or it'll burn or all the sauce soaks up into just half the cerial and nuts. I like it really hot and spicey after a few stirs I sprinkle some more canjun spice. I really love the almonds and pisctaschios best - but walnuts are about the cheapest here.

I have a recipe for honey roasted nuts if you like those too. They're really good with a splash of hot sauce and wosirshire sauce kind of sweet and hot all at once.
