I wanted to give a plug to a really, really, really good seasoning.
Dave's Dragon Dust.
Here is a little excerpt from their site that describes the unique blend of peppers used to make up the Dragon Dust.

"We have included the Caribbean Red, Lemon Drop, Red Savina [emoji]174[/emoji], Scotch Bonnet and others. Also our own Hickory smoked Jalapenos (Chipotle). This blend also has Serrano, Thai, Tepin, Pequin, Cayenne AND the new Guinness Book of world record holding hot pepper, the Bhut Jolokia"

I received a sample of Dave's for free when I ordered a packet of bhut jolokia seeds and it was great. You have to like some heat but if yuou do then this is worth trying.
I found myself sprinkling it on almost everything.
I need to order more but wanted to share with everyone how great it is in the hopes that some people will give it a try.

Sorry it took me so long to respond to this ICEMAN, just now realized you asked about the dust/seeds.

I checked the site and couldn't find the seeds either then I remembered I got them off of ebay and they sent the Dragon Dust as a free sample with the purchase of the seeds.

Here is the link for the seller on there...

I'll also send this to you in a PM.
And again, anyone who hasn't tried Dragon Dust you should give it a shot, soooooooo good.

Hey thanks for the accidental bump! I just ordered me a bottle. I remembered thinking back in June I should and forgot about it. Not this time... be here in 3 to 5 days!!!

I have no doubt you will love it John.
I would never recommend something unless I thought it was really good and being such a fan of spiced hot goodness that you are I have to figure you will enjoy it.
I need to order another batch since I used all mine up. Goes great on everything, though I never did end up using it on anything smoked...guess I really need to order more now to give it a whirl.

I am going to order a bottle and try it out... I like HOT...

Also from their web site:
Reminds me of the time I was cleaning some Jalepeno's with my bare hands for mixing in with some chili I was making. Had to stop to go to the bathroom. Didn't wash my hands first

I ordered up a bottle although it shows as being sold out at the moment.
Thanks for the link.!

Finally got my long-awaited Dragon's Dust

Also bought some Bhut Jolokia seeds and got sent a small packet of the chiles as a sampler as well.

Let me tell you folks, Dave's Dragon Dust has a great, rich, peppery smell that let's you know right off the bat it's a well thought-out combination of spices.

With that said, it is also HOT with a capital "aich".

It is not pure (uppercase) HELL-HEAT-WITH-NO-FLAVOR, but serious (lowercase) hell-heat-with-a-lot-of-flavor. Good to go!

This will make some mighty fine chile-con-carne, as well as giving some of Mrs Rivet's "Autoclave Turkey-Habanero Soup" a real nice twist.

If you're a chili-head, I say go for it. Seriously. Here's a pic~

Thanks for the recommendation FIRE IT UP, points to you, bud
WOW.... I was sure surprised when I stumbled upon this thread talking about my product!! Thank you all so much for the kind words & enthusiasm about our product. I am excited to say that it has been growing in popularity and despite a very good growing season.... I am still going to sell out again this year. Every year we have expanded the fenced area of the farm to grow more chiles. Every year the demand increases to the point that we never really think were are catching up. I guess it's a nice problem to have. I just finished a course at Oregon State University, "Better Foods Processing School" So I am now certified to manufacture/market Hot Sauce, BBQ sauce etc... I have already had my FDA kitchen inspection and my licensing is in order. We have our recipes for Original, Chipotle and Ghost pepper BBQ sauce dialed in and are only held back by the completion of the label and nutritional info. We also have a Caribbean style hot sauce with Bhut Jolokia and our own fresh peaches and a standard red hot sauce with a carrot base and lots of roasted garlis and of course..... Bhut Jolokias. I will write more and post pictures as well when things get closer to done. Thank you all again for your enthusiastic support of our chile products!! It does my heart good!!!! Dave
Hey there Dave!
Didn't expect you would venture onto the site but here you are
PDT_Armataz_01_34.gif

Love the Dragon dust, actually have been meaning to order more since I like to use it on so many things.
I'm thrilled about the hot sauces and BBQ sauces, especially the chipotle, definitely going to order a bottle of that once you get them available.

Please be sure to keep us updated, hell, why not get a few BBQ rub concoctions going, long as the sauces take off it would be great to see some BBQ spices.

Hi there Dave, and welcome to the forum!

I still have your Bhut Jolokia seeds tucked away and plan on starting them at the end of next month with some grow mats.

Your Dragon's Dust is outstanding and I appreciate all the personal (mail and telephone) help you gave me during the order mixup!

Great ideas you have and looking forward to trying your hot sauces. Make sure you keep us all posted!

Now I'm interested.. How hot is this dragon dust? I like hot food, but I'm more interested in a good flavor heat than I am in pain. It sounds like this seasoning has a good blend of both. I've bookmarked the page to look into when I get some funds freed up after the holiday season.

I have to tell you Brian, I like great flavors, I also enjoy hot spices but am definitely not one of those people who think the hotter the better. There is a point where heat can get excessive and then you lose the initial flavor that you were hoping for.
Take habaneros, I love their flavor. The heat I can take but that is not why I am there, that initial and underlying citrus flavor you get is amazing so when I say I enjoy a spice for its flavor over something as easily achievable and overly masking as a simple hotness I would hope that my word will convince you.

Dave's Dragon Dust, sure it contains habaneros and the infamous bhut jolokia but they are blended with the amazing (and my absolute favorite) flavor of chipotle in a seasoning that truly tantilizes your taste buds, it makes your pallet stand up and take notice of a truly great flavor sombination.

I hate to sound like a salesman, well hell-if it gets people to try it I don't care what I sound like, but if you enjoy some heat and wonderful flavors that stand through the taste as opposed to a painful burning sensation like most hot seasonings then this is one I can't recommend enough.

You won't be disappointed.

Yes exactly. This Dragons Dust is Hot. You can smell it when you open the can and take a whiff, but the heat is intermingled with the sweetest most delicious blend of spices (Jim above described it well too) that makes you want to try it right off the bat.

I did. I stuck the tip of my finger in the jar and licked off what was stuck on it. Immediately got a mouthful of flavour that was intense and amazing. Only after a moment did the heat creep in and then my head started to sweat. It was a steady even heat all the while enveloped in this wild stirring of flavors that (from my usage) compliments fried chicken, baked chicken, soups (turkey and chicken), nachos, refried beans, grilled cheese sandwiches, chili, and salmon. I have yet to try it on beef or pork...hmm, don't know why now that I think about it!

This ain't for kids, but it's all good!

Braver man than me John, I sprinkled it on everything under the sun but no way was I going in full force and tasting a straight coating off my finger tip.
Whew!
