Was going to do a Tri Tip on the Cook-Air, but the Tip was to big to do without slicing it into steaks. I did the tri tip on my Jumbo Joe with some pics in charcoal smokers section. Maybe next week some good pork chops on the Cook-Air!

How big is the cooking surface?

Must be pretty small if you can't fit a Tri tip on there. I do Tri tips on the Smokey Joe and the Mini-WSM all the time and it's cooking surface is just under 14".

Is that thing electric?

Sorry I meant to thick, it was 3 inches in the center of the roast. And yes it's electric through AC/DC plug, 110 normal outlet, also 8 d-batteries and It only burns wood or lump. The biggest steak I would cook on this is maybe 1 1/2 inches thick.

I forgot the size of the grate is the same as the SJ, this is more of an flash smoke high sear grill than a 30 to 40 min smoker then high sear.
