After getting the commercial fridge I posted about a week ago and figuring out that it has foam insulation, I decided to go on the hunt for something else. Today I picked up the warmer. It has rock wool type insulation and doors on each side. Owner had a smoke daddy on it. My idea is to put an element in the bottom run it 240v and get paid for controller. I have another smoke daddy so I might run 2.

Question time. Oven element, dryer element, or go a different route? I fear a dryer element would be to small and localized and not sure if oven would get hot enough.
Would I have to cover element from drippings?
Does anyone have a link to parts and wiring for auberins pid running 240? I read somewhere I want 4 wire.

I’m watching this one cause I have thought of using the exact thing as a smoker. I see them all the time up on auction for real cheap (non working condition). Best of luck and enjoy the build process.

Sorry I can’t help you, I just use a propane powered cold smoker with hickory in a cast iron pan in the bottom or my straight stick burning old fridge smoker..... or an assortment of small fish specific smokers (totem smoker & little chief smoker).
