This is my forecast.....

I'm just hoping the work truck will run tomorrow. Put about 40 gallons of #1 diesel in it. Hopefully that works.
The old duramax has been grunting a bit the last couple days, but it has started fine without the block heater plugged in. Tomorrow may be different as temps are supposed to dip near zero overnight.

Calling for freezing rain here. Id take snow over that in a heartbeat.
In spades! The worst and most widespread storm damage I've ever had to work through were ice storms. The working conditions also suck, as icing on the cake, no pun intended. It's cold as all get out and every tree you climb is more or less a skating rink. Probably the only aspect of the job I don't miss.

Glad no ice in the forecast....not so lucky farther south. I expect a lot of downed power lines where the ice line is at....
The last ice storm I worked, Madison County, where I live, just to the south of Fayette County, where I worked was below the ice line.

I woke up, looked outside and assumed we dodged the bullet. On my way into work, just as soon as I crossed the county line, the trees on each side of the road were iced up and bent over more or less making it a one lane road. Kept getting worse as I went along. Made a ton of money that year, but it pretty much put the finish on my career as an arborist.

Oh My!! Next Tuesday; high 31*F, low 13*F!!!! Coldest weather here in a VERY LONG TIME!! Had to cover my fig tree with a tarp and put a drop light in there. Also expecting 8-10" of snow! Not Louisiana snow either (frost)....the real stuff from up north!! People are freaking out around town!!
How about keeping all that crap over there with you I don't need it. They are saying snow here but who knows my luck it will be ice. I think we're forecast for 2-4" the last time I looked and Brian isn't that far east of me and it's ice for him. I'm just a few miles north of I-10
Winter storm watch in effect last one was in 2013 so it ain't often. If and I say if it happens things will be shut down around this area until it's all gone.

Nowhere near as bad as you guys have it, but we're having the coldest night of the winter so far, 26F. Fortunately, we have high pressure zone over us, so no snow. Of course, they say the mountain snowpack is way below normal, so that's not good for next summer.

Got up to 3 degrees this morning . Had fifty 2 days ago . At least the snow and ice melted
Typical for Missouri this time of year .
Used to work out it it all day . I never figured out how to get staying home to
pay the bills .

Just a idea for guys that aren't used to these conditions .
Use cooking spray on the gasket on the bottom of your garage door and the weather stripping on your cars or trucks . Keeps them from sticking , and maybe ripping when you force the door open .

I'd take snow over ice any day! I can move snow. Seems every ice storm comes with high winds. Been several years but remember South Dakota had a bad ice storm, many out of power for two weeks.

Just finished clearing a couple inches of snow in our 3F / feels like -14F weather. Multiple layers including military grade insulated underwear and I was toasty warm. The laughing sure makes taking the dogs out a longer process lol. They love it and want to stay out and play.

I was issued wool long underwear in Basic Training long, long ago....

Best stuff ever! The new synthetics like polypropylene don't come close...
