Cold Smoking with a hot platye

My gas smoker was on low and wouldn't make smoke, it got to 115 deg F which is too hot for cold smoke. Would you think a hot plate would make smoke yet keep temp way down?

Hey Mudflap

You didn't say what you have for a smoker, but my suggestion would be to get hold of Todd at AMAZN and get one of his AMNPS or tube smoker.  Great smoke and next to no heat.  You can find a whole whack of posts on it in the search bar.

Thanks Gary. I using a converted over upright freezer I made into cold smoker
