Stupid question, is there a difference between Chuck Roast and Pot Roast? I smoked a few chuck roasts a few months back for some delicious pulled beef. Going through the freezer while we are on lockdown and I've got a few packages labeled "Pot Roast". They look the same as a chuck roast. Is there a difference?

I read this; A chuck roast is any cut of meat that comes from the chuck, or the shoulder part of the steer. A pot roast isn’t a specific cut of meat—it’s just a method of preparing a cut of meat by slowly braising it with liquid (like stock or wine) until it’s juicy and tender. So a pot roast could be a chuck?

^^^What Sandy said^^^
And no matter how you make a Chuck Roast, Smoke, Crock Pot, Grill, Roast, SV, it will always be a "Chuck Roast".

Yep, Pot Roast is a Cooking Method. Chuck Roast is a cut of meat. The confusion comes from Grocery Store Labels. Since Pot Roasting is a Low, Slow and Moist method of getting Any Tough cut of meat tender, stores will label, Chuck cuts, Top Round cuts Bottom Round cuts, hunks of Eye Round and even Brisket cuts, as Pot Roast. All are typically too tough to Grill, Broil or Roast in your oven, slice and and eat...JJ
