One time I was sitting in a little club, getting in the frame of mind to finish my Christmas shopping. The waitress ask what I was doing in town and when I told her, she said,"you better hurry, the mall closes in 2 hours". Sometimes I wait till the last moment.
Usually my wife and I both take a day off work in the middle of the week and get as much done as possible. That way the stores aren't as crowded. There are usually still a few things left after that. And of course, I can't buy hers with her at my elbow.
why sure you can, you pick something up and say, 'would you like this for Christmas" and she will show you what she really wants, you buy it, you're done :)
I usualy start around January. I don't like shopping in general so if I see something unique that jumps out and says "I should go to .... - I buy it and hide it somewhere in the house. Except for my home made stuff I am usually done by August - that I may still be worikng on Christmas Eve!
The biggest problem I have starting early is I'm not always good at waiting to give gifts. I love giving presents when it's least expected. I kind of like giving gifts and saying things like HAPPY TUESDAY or "because your feeling blue day." I'm also obsessive compulsive an the internet makes it too easy sometimes to click and ship things! LOL
The other disadvantage is trying to remember What I got and Where I put it. Someday when I move I'm gonna find alot of extra stuff!
