My Son has the original Solo stove Pi pizza . It's wood fired , but he added the propane burner to it . I would hate to try it with wood only .
He bought the stand and all the acc. for it . Quite the setup .

It's an awesome oven . He's got it figured out and makes great pizza on it .
I like the fact that the sausage can go on raw if you want .

Fully cooked in about 2 minutes at 700 degrees .

Keep in mind , the above is after a fairly big learning curve .
Early results weren't close to that , and he took a break for a bit .
He makes killer cheese pizza on it .

I'm a huge fan of the solo stove . Love the design and the quality , but haven't used any other wood or propane fired pizza ovens .

Like all three of these. Not in the Solo price range though...

I currently have a Pizza Party Emozione. Just made a pizza yesterday.
Converted it from Propane to NG. Pic was after I just got it.

Previous was a wood fired Oven. Could do larger and more pizzas in it.

And before that was another Pizza Party wood fired.

Thanks Y'all for the replys... These are the only two choices I have to choose from... You see, I just past the 35 year mark at my job and the company has a company store to choose a reward from... Those two pizza ovens are the only ones they offer... I'm not sure what I am going to choose yet, whether it be a pizza oven or something else... They offer a Kitchen Aid 5.5qt bowl lift mixer as well... My problem with that is space on my countertop... Plus the fact that we don't use a mixer very much...

Between the two you linked I think I’d go with the solo stove option based solely on temperature. The solo stove reaches 950 while the Blackstone model reaches 800. For a dedicated pizza oven I’d want something more than 800.

They both look to cook about the same size pizza. The turning stone in the Blackstone might be a nice feature, but it’s really not a big deal to manually turn a few times with a turning peel. The pizzas take under two minutes to cook, so you’re going to need standing right next to it anyway.

Congrats on the anniversary Keith

No experience with either Solo or Blackstone.
Figured you could make your own until you added the story

That's my (passed away) brother with his home built wood fired pizza oven. Also a fire pit when you remove the top. You need some vertical separation from the wood coals to the pizza stone to control the heat. Wood fired pizza is da bomb.

We have a tilt head KA mixer that got used a lot over the past 30 years. I use it more these days as wifey doesn't make much baked goods these days. I use it for kneading bread dough.
Got a cabinet space for it under the counter.
Used it today to make a batch of sticky buns.

Decisions decisions

I got the Chefman, and am incredibly happy with it. The caveat is that we have zero love for Neapolitan, and it just doesn't get hot enough for a true 90 second pie in that style.

It does, however, make absolutely fantastic NY and Chicago style - and Detroit as well if a small Lloyd's pan is enough (for the large pan - which doesn't fit - 550F in my regular oven).

The biggest upside is that you can get one for around $200-$250 if you can time a sale.

That Solo Stove looks pretty slick. I've looked at various setups multiple times but can't decide. How do some of these setups work on store bought frozen pizza for those of us that are lazy or too busy to commit to making dough

It's nice . I really like it . Well built too . Having the stand and all the other stuff really makes it fun to use . It wasn't fun at first . Pretty frustrating . Just have to stay with it . We make some great pizza in it .

If you want a pizza oven , and do frozen pizza , look at the Chefman LoydB LoydB linked .
I bought one after he posted about his . Fantastic oven . Works really well for frozen pizzas too .
Makes legit St. Louis style thin crust . I got mine on sale for $215.00 to the front door .
Made this one last week . Homemade dough and sauce . Quality cheese .

Cooked on the thin crust pre set .

The solo pie pizza wouldn't be a good choice for store bought frozen . A lot of stores here are selling pre made pizza dough . I'm used to making my own . I usually do it on Sunday , and put it in the fridge and use it during the week .
