I have a Master Forge 1600w Red Bullet Electric Smoker.  Even on it's highest setting after several hours, the thermometer in the top reads just over 200 degrees.  I cannot seem to get it get any hotter.  Am I doing something wrong?  Is there any way I can get it to go hotter?  Thanks.

I would bet a month's PAY that the thermometer in the top of that unit is just worthless.   Try using a digital probe hanging inside the box and see if that doesn't make a difference.  Calibrate whatever you use using the boiling water test (looking for 212F).

If after all that you still show only 200F then your heating element isn't working correctly and I would take it back or call their customer service.
