Not sure if this is the proper place to post this but oh well here it is. I bought 4-2lb bags of brown sugar I use in breakfast links brines etc. Went to use some for a pork chop sauce last night and all was hard like a rock they are still in the bags from the store is there anything I can do to soften them up??

take a sliced apple and put a few slices in each bag. the moisture from the apple will work its way to the brown sugar. this works.

My mom used to put a clay medalion in her brown sugar. I think the clay always has moisture and does the same as the apple. Apple is just easier, throw away when it becomes nothing

a lightly damp paper towel in the bag works too, as dose a few seconds in the microwave.
