Hi to all the great people here at SMF!
Finished a brisket last night about 2am. Rain and weather added way too much time to may smoke. That is not the point of the post, however. I had time to think about life and how it relates to smoking a good brisket. I posted on my facebook and thought it was worth sharing.
Please chime in with added thoughts you may have had while smoking.
My thoughts on Life and Brisket:
You learn a lot about yourself smoking a good beef brisket.
-You learn that it takes time to accomplish something great.
-You learn that preparation is 90% of task. Setting yourself up for success makes the other 10% a breeze.
-You need a good plan before you begin, and stick to that plan. But if something comes up (like a rainstorm) don't be afraid to adjust.
-You learn that you must have patience in life with things out of your control, other people (or tough brisket), and most importantly, YOURSELF.
-Like cooking brisket, there is more than one way to do things in life, all which can be the right way (or the wrong way).
Sorry to get a little deep on you this morning! Wait until I smoke some ribs!
Thanks for reading
