hey everyone. I know not all of us use injections for our briskets. Me being one when it comes to low and slow. But when I do it hot and fast I tend to use a commercial injection. With that being said I was wondering some of the many combos of rubs/injection that you all are using when doing a brisket. I recently picked up butchers prime brisket injection and was wondering what you all think pairs well with it for a rub? Thanks!

Personally me, i dont inject for additional flavor but more for added moist. I dont inject nothing but beef broth to enhance the beef flavor and moist, brisket to me cost too much not to just rely on the nature flavors in it. For rub i use salt, Pepper, touch of onion and garlic and paprika for color.. if I'm feeling froggy maybe some course steak seasoning for texture

Most guys inject with beef broth & use just S&P for a rub.
I sometimes use Montreal steak seasoning for a rub.

Good input guys, I only asked bc I attended a brisket “boot camp” to perfect my brisket from a hot and fast stand point. Where we used an injection that was either a beef broth base or tomato base mix with either additional rub or an injection powder. I too enjoy the purist form of brisket with beef broth and S&P but just wanted to try out the butchers bbq injection and see if others had tried it what rub they like with it and the results.

I typically am a "purist" as well but this weekend I'll be trying Kosmo's Smokehouse Reserve Brisket injection and rubbing it down with Oakridge Black Ops rub. I'll either make a post or let you know here how it turned out!

Awesome can’t wait to hear the results. Good luck hope it turns out just how you plan!

Have not done it yet but pretty sure I am doing 10% water with .5% phosphate and .5% msg. Rub of equal parts salt, (fresh ground) pepper, and granulated garlic on oak. Jeff's Texas is also good and would work well.

Hot and fast with kosher salt and course pepper here.... Always kicked around injecting with beef broth but have yet to do it. May have to try it out
