Apparently they aren't going to be nearly as good as past years. Publix has them advertised this week for $10.99/lb. for USDA Choice. Lowe's Foods has USDA Select for $9.99/lb.

I guess the days of $5.99/lb. or less are gone...

That is what I am thinking, Xmas and Easter is the time. at $5.99/lb I would buy a ton and make some great burgers...lol I am holding out a little hope as the turkey pricing I have seen is the lowest in years...$.29/lb at one store here with a $15 purchase.

The only throw-back sales I'm seeing around here is for turkey. BB @ .99/pd and Shadow Cross at .49/lb. Beef forget about it.

Yep don't look like any sales around here this year either, the wife and I are about the only ones in the immediate family that love turkey, there is usually a lot left over which is fine by me, I seen Popeyes made them and you buy them frozen and just reheat, told her I was going to get 1 and then decided not to, ran across them at Kroger 2 days ago and give 1 a ride home :emoji_laughing: , will report back on it latter in the week after T day. I will see how they compare to my birds. Had thought about warming back up on the pellet smoker but try it straight up first.

I BOUGHT A 22 POUND WHOLE-IN-THE-BAG CHOICE RIB ROAST LAST XMAS FOR $4.75LB, IT'S STILL IN THE FREEZER UNTOUCHED. TODAY I SEE THE BEST DEAL AT ONE OF THE THREE MARKETS I PATRONIZE GOING FOR $12.99LB! WE'LL SEE WHAT SANTA IS BRINGING IN ABOUT ONE MONTH, MAYBE HE'LL LOAD UP IN ARGENTINA BEFORE HE GETS HERE, MAYBE NOT. RAY
