Hello All!

I'm Ginger, from Columbus, OH.  I'm currently using a Weber Smokey Mountain for my smoking needs.  After trying some smoked chicken wings at Millstone BBQ in Logan, OH (Near Hocking Hills), I HAD to have a smoker.  I love to grill on my Weber grills (yes, I have both gas and charcoal grills), so the Smokey Mountain became the natural choice.

I'm in love with this new way of cooking!  I've had it about 4 months and so far I've smoked a few pork butts, lots of chicken breasts, wings, thighs and legs, whole turkeys, turkey breasts.  All have had really good results.  I'm looking to develop some rubs of my own, but I've been quite happy using the Galena Street Rubs from Penzey's Spices.

Mostly consume the meats "as is" after smoking, but I'm having fun using the leftovers as well.  Smoked chicken salad is the BOMB!  Today's creation was a Smoked Pulled Pork Chili in the crockpot.  Tomorrow, I'll be using leftover smoked turkey in a sweet potato hash.

I still need to work on smoking beef and ribs, but I'll get there!

Anybody else have neighbors come by sniffing the air when they smell smoke?  Man, I sure do!  I think my next door neighbor has decided I'm her own personal bbq joint!  LOL

Wow that's crazy penzeys gets all the way out by you , I'm from the Milwaukee area and I used to work at there small warehouse , I thought it was just a mom n' pop joint with a few local stores....

There is a member on hear who said to try pulled pork pizza with leftovers, that is by far the best Invention!
I ran into a big issue where I was throwing meat away because there just wasn't anybody to eat it but that ended fast!
I love smoking turkeys but don't like birds. I donate them to the shelter they love it and I feel like a hero!

I have 3 smokers and 2 grills friends and family think its an addiction. But they never say no to meat or jerky.

My Favorite thing to smoke (and eat) is ribs, any problems just ask , I know a few tricks. I've cooked ribs for large party's at my house

Hi Jesse,

We have a Penzey's store here in Columbus, and I think all of my spices come from there. When I choose to make my own rubs, I have top quality ingredients!

A Foodsaver is a must if you like to do big smokes. That way you can freeze leftovers for use later. That's where the pulled pork came from today for my chili.

I don't ever seem to have leftover wings though! I smoke mine for about 2.5 hours, then dip them in my chuhula hot sauce/butter sauce and grill them. Those are hardcore, at least at my house.

I will try brisket again soon, ribs as well. Just need to cook them longer than I think, but I'll take any advice I can get!

Thanks for the welcome!

Try injecting your hot sauce and butter into your wings and then smoke them, it will take them up a notch!

I have a food saver, I like going to SAMs club and buying meat in bulk then freezing in smaller portions...

My food saver works only 2-3 times and then it seals before it gets all the air out, I don't know what's wrong with it but I'm not buying a new one until it breaks once and for all
