Top round steak, sliced thin, a Thai marinade for 3 hours, threaded onto skewers, grilled over high heat.
Topped with sauce and served with purple cilantro potato salad, cucumbers, eggplant. Everything homegrown, including beef.
Beef was very tender and tasty.

That looks good, Steve. What's the Thai marinade? Never heard of purple cilantro. Does it taste the same as the green cilantro available at most stores?

Yes, purple potatoes. I like to grow both gold and purple potatoes.

The marinade I used (amounts are approximate): 4T brown sugar, 4T chopped cilantro, 2T toasted sesame oil, 2T fish/oyster sauce, 2T+ soy sauce, juice of 1 lime, 1T siracaha, 1/2 t ginger powder, several garlic cloves. I have Thai basil in garden but forgot to use any.
After marinating, I cooked the marinade for 10 min and used that as a dipping sauce (but I just poured it on instead of dipping).

Strong work!! I associate the word satay with tasty peanut sauce.
No peanut sauce here. Out peanut butter jar is being used to give a dog antibiotics (raw nose).
But the marinade was just as good for a sauce, if not better.

Sate (often spelled with an "e") are used in other cultures besides Thai. Different spices/sauces, but all on a stick.
