Ok the fam went to the movie last night and one of the previews was a “Beef it’s whats for dinner” spot that was unreal!!! So I posted it here ..... Drool log. Imagine this on a 30 foot high screen!!!!! After the spot ended my wife asked if I was OK cause she said I looked like I had been hit by lightening.....I just gazed back with a longing needful gaze.......
So all day I have been possessed by the fire roasted beef images until I finally said dang it it’s 5 o’clock somewhere I’m out the work door!!!!
So I ran home to get busy working on these double R ranch NY Roasts that we picked up for 3.99/lb. It was like fate!!!
Trimmed of the bone and seasoned heavily with SPOG
The bones went under the 1800 degree infrared broiler for a quick sear.
The bones then went in the pot with broth, a little soy, red wine, & Demi and after an hour of hard boil, a sweet onion went in!
Once the bones were creating magic I got a chimney of coals started in the X-Fire.
Added cherry logs on the coals to get the chamber up to temp.
On they go!
Cherry wood doing its job!!
Natural wood flame has a mysterious affect!
The X-Fire keeping the magical beef all nice and warm free from the affects of the rain/sleet nasty weather :-)
Bingo IT at 128!
Resting for the reveal!
The cut!!!! Oh man I can hardly wait!
So finally the full circle encore of the “beef it’s what’s for dinner”!
Christmas is here early!!!
My wife looked at me after dinner and asked are you OK? cause I am just laying back on the couch with a grin on my face and glazed eyes........
